This week’s pattern that I can’t recommend enough is also a former “what I’m working on this week” pattern, and I’ve just finished it and I’m thrilled to bits. It’s Brittany’s Textured Crochet Rug by Cream of the Crop Crochet, and I adore it.
My version is done in cotton (Bernat Handicrafter – Sonoma Print, which used two of the big balls with just enough to spare for a small-ish washcloth), and despite the location in the photo, is our new bathmat (apparently windowless rooms aren’t the ideal environment for photographing crochet). I made a couple of careless errors in mine (chiefly in the bobble rows… see how two of the three bobble sections have two rows slightly off-kilter? Bad Maddy! Given its intent as a bathmat that will spend three quarters of its life draped over a towel bar as it air-dries, I chose to not go back and fix the rows as I worked), but please note that the fault is entirely my own and not the fault of the pattern, which was easy-to-follow, flawless, and gave me a great excuse to practice the bobble stitch. I plan to do another in a bulkier yarn for under my writing desk (with better attention to the bobble rows!) later in the year, because this was so much fun to make, and my poor feet are perpetually cold down here.

Be happy, healthy, and safe!
